In life you can be buoyed up or overwhelmed, swimming energetically, floating gently or fighting for survival. The constant, repetition of noise and movement of the sea allows me to escape my everyday thoughts, to be mesmerised, elevated or swept away. Memories of the waves bouncing to shore, rolling and cresting, chased by the tails of the wind, filled with energy.
ECHOES OF THE SEA series: Fabrications of seas and oceans; rocks and waves and creatures, and sounds and smells and feelings; under, over and on top of. I let my body, my spirit, sink into the making, guiding my hands to shape forms. #sensuouspractice
