I first visited the magical Challacombe Woods, Exmoor in 2012 on a bright sunny day and shortly afterwards created a “dwelling place” installation. I also wondered what magical, slightly scary things may occur there at the gloaming. As the day closes into night, when the moonlight shimmers and dances on leaves and boughs, shadows lurk and flit across illuminated woodlands.
I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE DARK series: fear can freeze us, mold us and also galvanise us. Live life and embrace change, movement, brightness. We can survive and thrive when we open ourselves up and embrace the darkness of our fears. #sensuouspractice
